Autumn Term

Autumn Disco

Once again our wonderful group of FRIENDS organised a fun disco for the benefit of all of our
children. Our resident DJ, Mark, kept the children entertained with all the latest sounds as they
danced the evening amidst flashing lights and decorations. They all seemed to have a great time
and enjoyed their half term treat. Thank you to Katie and her team for their hard work and all
the adults who supported the event.

Diwali Dance Workshop

The children in Years 3,4, 5 and 6 had a super time on Wednesday learning the intricate moves
of Asian dancing ably led by Jo, who previously led our Disney Dance Workshop a couple of
years ago. I was very impressed by how much each class learned in such a short space of time
and how well they all presented their dance to the rest of the school. It is so important for
children to learn about other cultures and this was a fun way of doing so. They all looked great.
Diwali is a Hindu Festival of Light which was celebrated yesterday, October 19th, around the
world. Children can compare this celebration to the importance of Light in Christianity (Jesus
being the Light of the World) and indeed other religions. Happy Diwali to all our Hindu friends!
