GIRLS FOOTBALL
This morning, some of our girls took part in an exciting football practice session at Bishop Stopford School, and it was a fantastic experience for everyone involved.
During the practice, the girls had the opportunity to develop new football skills through fun drills and activities. They worked on teamwork, coordination, and confidence on the pitch, while also encouraging and supporting one another throughout the session.
Beyond improving their football abilities, the practice was also a wonderful chance for the girls to socialise, meet new friends, and build positive connections. It was great to see such a supportive and friendly atmosphere.
LONDON FIRE BRIGADE
This week we were delighted to welcome a member of the London Fire Brigade to visit our Year 2 and Year 5 classes. The children had a fantastic opportunity to learn all about fire safety and what to do in an emergency.
During the session, the children discovered how fires can start, how to prevent them, and the important steps to take if they ever find themselves in a dangerous situation. They learned about the importance of having working smoke alarms at home, creating a fire escape plan with their families, and remembering the emergency number to call for help.
Our visitor also talked about the important work that firefighters do every day to keep our communities safe. The children asked lots of thoughtful questions and were very engaged throughout the session.
A big thank you to Sandra from London Fire Brigade for taking the time to visit our school and share such valuable knowledge with our pupils. We are very grateful for her time and for helping our children learn how to stay safe.
LONDON AIR AMBULANCE
On Wednesday, the children took part in a very engaging assembly led by the London Air Ambulance Charity. They learned about the vital role the air ambulance crew play in helping people who are severely injured across London.
Rhiannon explained how they respond quickly to emergencies and provide life-saving medical care at the scene of serious accidents. The children were fascinated to hear about the specialist equipment carried on board and the highly skilled doctors and paramedics who work as part of the crew.
The assembly sparked lots of interest and thoughtful questions, showing just how engaged the children were throughout. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to learn more about the important work the charity does to help people in critical situations and keep our communities safe.
ENGLISH WEEK
English Week started with a bang, kicking off with an exciting launch assembly led by Miss Headley and the crayons. However, the crayons were very upset and decided to protest!
Check out our launch video on Instagram!
Every single class had a Mystery reader visit this week. These were some members of school staff, parents, siblings and other students. The children loved having a different face visit them and some were extremely surprised when they saw that their parents were the mystery! We would love to continue having mystery readers; if you are interested, please contact the school office.
SPRING DISCO
What a fantastic evening we had at Spring Disco last night! The hall was full of energy, music, and smiling faces as the children enjoyed dancing and celebrating with their friends. It was wonderful to see everyone having such a great time and making special memories together.
A huge thank you to the parents who came along to volunteer — your support helped make the evening run so smoothly and is very much appreciated.
We would also like to thank The FRIENDS team for organising another brilliant event for our children.
COLLECTIVE WORSHIP - WELLBEING WEEK
As part of our Wellbeing Week, we were grateful to welcome a visitor who led our collective worship this morning, focusing on the impact of bullying on mental health. It was a thoughtful and powerful session, reminding us all of the importance of kindness, empathy, and looking out for one another.
We would like to thank Shununa from Wellbeing Connect Services for taking the time to visit and for sharing such an important message with our children.
POLICE VISIT
On Tuesday, we had some very special visitors in school – the police! They spent time talking to the children about how to stay safe, including stranger danger, mobile phone safety and who their trusted strangers are.
The children also had a fantastic time getting to see a real police car, sitting inside it, and even hearing the sirens — which was definitely a highlight of the day!
A big thank you to the police for coming in and helping teach our children how to stay safe. Thank you as well to Mrs Poullais for organising this visit for us.

On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome Outside the Box Productions to school for their performance of the Peter Pan pantomime. The show was full of fun, laughter and energy, with plenty of audience participation throughout. The children were thoroughly entertained and loved joining in, making it a really enjoyable experience for everyone. SCHOOL CHOIR
Thank you to our school choir for their wonderful performance at Waltham Cross.
Their enthusiasm and talent brought joy to everyone who attended.

A big thank you as well to all parents and carers who joined us to support the students. Your encouragement and presence made the occasion even more special.
FRIENDS CHRISTMAS MARKET
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Christmas Market—what a fantastic festive event it was! The hall was filled with Christmas cheer, excited children, and plenty of sparkle. We are especially grateful to our parent volunteers, staff, and everyone who helped, donated, or supported the event in any way. Your time, energy, and generosity made the market truly magical.
As always every penny raised goes straight back into the school, helping us continue to provide wonderful experiences and opportunities for our children.
Thank you for making this year’s Christmas Market such a success!
YEAR 6 - FIRST AID TRAINING
What a morning Year 5 and Year 6 had on Wednesday! Pupils in both year groups had the valuable opportunity to receive instruction in essential life-saving skills through the ABC Parents programme. The training covered recognising emergencies, contacting emergency services, assessing breathing, performing CPR, and managing severe bleeding. The children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and now feel confident in their ability to help save lives.
AUTUMN DISCO
We ended the term in style with our Autumn Disco, brilliantly organised by our wonderful FRIENDS team! The children had a fantastic time dancing, laughing, and celebrating together — it was the perfect way to finish a busy and exciting term.
We’d also like to give a special thank you to Sharon (one of our lovely parents) for her amazing balloon arch, which added such a colourful and festive touch to the celebration. You can see more of her beautiful work on Instagram at @svdecorates.
What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of term — thank you to everyone who helped make it so special!
FLAGS OF FREEZYWATER
To cap off Black History Month, on Wednesday, our school became a colourful cascade of cultural representation as we all dressed up in the colours of our flags! Well done everyone for Standing Firm in Power and Pride—this year’s BHM theme!
SPOKEN WORD WORKSHOP
We were so incredibly lucky today to work with Write to Speak. They brought the power of spoken word to children in Years 4–6 through dynamic and engaging workshops! Our children felt empowered to turn their ideas into powerful performances—one word at a time. We now have some budding poets and through spoken word, every child feels inspired and ready to speak their truth!
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST PANTOMIME
What a fantastic morning we had watching M&M Productions’ brilliant performance of Beauty and the Beast!
The children were completely captivated from start to finish — there was laughter, singing, and plenty of audience participation! Even our teachers couldn’t resist joining in with a bit of dancing (much to the children’s delight!).
A huge thank you to the M&M Productions team for bringing the magic of pantomime to our school — it was a truly wonderful experience!
YEAR 6 - GRAFFITI WORKSHOP
Year 6 had a graffiti workshop with Blingwear which was an unforgettable, high-energy creative experience! The children were fully immersed in the world of street art, learning about graffiti culture, design techniques, and the power of artistic expression. Guided by Simon aka BlingwearBoy, every student had the chance to unleash their inner artist—spray cans in hand—while creating bold, colourful pieces!
